Yesterday morning I woke up to Nala whining about 7:30AM wanting to be let out and when I opened my tired eyes I noticed that the light streaming through our blinds was orange and since that is not normally the color streaming though, I got out of bed to investigate and this is what I found.. it was breath taking. I had never seen the whole sky so orange with a hint of red before. I stood there for a moment knowing that soon this would pass. I knew that I would not have time to get my good camera so I took this with my phone. Thank you precious Nala for waking me up to witness this miraculous sight. I got back in bed and when I looked at the window before I dozed off to sleep again it was gone. I wished I could have frozen time so that Adam could have witnessed this sight with me. The world is an amazing place and seeing this only amplifies that. Each day is such a gift!

A Monster Can Be Sweet To...

I usually portray Jett as being a little monster and it's not that I mean too it's just most of the time he is usually destroying something or being out of control hyper but....last night I had a very sweet moment that come every now and then and since I usually forget to write them down I promised myself that I would write this one down.

We were getting ready for bed and I was kind of propped up in bed just chilling talking to Adam.

Jett once settled down from a hyper spurt climbed on the bed and crawled up and laid by be and I was wearing a short sleeve shirt, he began licking my arm and when he does he always closes his eyes like its a calming thing for him. As he was licking my arm softly the licks got fewer and fewer and I realized he was falling asleep. He stopped licking me and was just sleeping on my arm. When he realized he wasn't licking my arm anymore he woke up and restarted licking my arm almost immediately falling back asleep. He laid there for a few minutes with a small lick here and there just making sure I was still there. He fell back asleep and laid there for awhile fast asleep. It almost seemed as though my arm was like a pacifier for him calming him down and relaxing him to the point of sleep. Although this seems like a weird thing especially for those who don't have pets or dogs but it was such a sweet thing. He needed me for comfort just like I need him for comfort sometimes. I sometimes forget he is just a baby in aspects of his age since he is just a crazy boy but when he settles down and becomes vulnerable he is like a little baby. I love those moments of bonding and being there when he needs his Momma. I love being a mother to Nala and Jett. I find that I bond with both of them in such different ways and give them love in different ways as well. They make up my world and even if they aren't able to speak with words and tell me how much they need or love me they do in there actions and that speaks even louder.

Our January

Our January has been very busy hence the lack of posting and January is ending in 2 two days.

Adam started school on the 6th and he taking 2 classes. Chemistry and Geology both have labs he has to be there for as well. He loves the Geology but hates the Chemistry. I would too. Jett turned 7 months old on the 16th and I remembered to snap some pictures of him.

Jett is the most active little guy who loves to play and is just happy all the time.

He is getting to be more of a cuddle bug and loves ears. He hardly ever wines and rarely barks.

He loves his sister more than ever.

He loves to chase anything and is constantly following me around.

He loves to sleep against something with is legs in the air.

He is very competitive and wants anything Nala has no matter if it's the same thing or not.

He is the cutest thing and he is getting better at licking and not biting.

We love him!!

Adam left town for business on the 14th and was gone for 7 days to Wyoming.

He worked like a crazy person and was exhausted when he returned.

Jett was neutered on the 27th and has to wear his new accessory for 7-10 days but we take it off so he won't go insane. He forgets he has it on sometimes and runs into things. Poor guy!

We found out he weighs 35.7lbs

Our dogs sitter who usually comes over during the day to play with the pups quit and her last day was the 20th so we have been putting the dogs in daycare twice a week. They both love it to pieces and it gives them a lot more exercise and fun.

Year In Review..2011

When you think about a year in the present you often think of it being a long time but when you are looking in the past you can't believe all that has happened and all the things that have changed.

I have spent days working on this post. Wondering what to write, how to put into words our year and this is all I could come up with.

I have changed more in this year then in any year past and sometimes I am not sure what direction I am going and who I am trying to become. I try day by day to figure that out and as of right now I am still a work in progress. I know that life is ever changing but sometimes it changes more than you could have ever expected.

{Here is our 2011}

2011 was such a life changing year that it's hard to put into words how I feel about it. I don't think I have ever been so happy for a year to end in my life. It has been such a life changing year for both Adam and I. It has been such a roller coaster of things from the beginning of the year with Adam leaving the church to going to Florida for our anniversary to Disneyland with Hollie and Steve to welcoming Jett into our family to Nala turning 2 to Adam changing jobs twice and going on his first business trip to becoming an Aunt and Uncle to an adorable nephew to seeing Cali and Jordan leave on missions to Adam's sister Sara getting married to being able to spend my birthday with my Dad for the first time ever to taking Ember to the aquarium and Chuck E Cheese to welcoming Jacob and Lucy into our family to buying our first car together to having Thanksgiving at our house to Adam's sister Erin getting her mission call to the Czech/Slovakian area to seeing the American Idols in concert to our first ever camping trip being married to finishing our fence to many date nights together to many midnight movies to many outings with friends to spending every holiday and birthday together to lots of laughs and lots of new memories shared and created.

So there there is this website called Pinterest that is amazing and I am not only in love with it I think i'm a bit obsessed...

I check it at least once a day and am always adding things to my boards! It's such a genius idea that I wish I would have been brilliant enough to come up with it!

Christmas Celebrations 2011...

Christmas this year was with my side of the family and boy was it a great one. On Christmas Eve went to dinner at Sizzler with my Mom and Grandparents and then played games afterwards. We woke up the next morning and opened the presents from Adam's parents and siblings.

We really didn't spend too much on the pups for Christmas this year seeming as we feel as though they are spoiled enough throughout the year but gave them hugs and made sure they knew they were loved.

We then got ready and headed over to my Mom's and Grandparents house and ate a yummy breakfast, after we sorted gifts and tried taking turns opening gifts but my mom was not good a following that rule so it didn't last to long. We got a lot of good things. My mom gave us each a small Christmas tree with gift cards attached all over it. It was such a neat gift we loved it! We opened our stockings. We draw names every year and you can only spend $10 dollars and it has to be from the dollar store. It is a fun tradition we do.

We had a great time opening presents and enjoying our new gifts! We are so lucky to have such an amazing family to share the holidays with!

We got my Grandparents a 19inch marble Chirstus statue which they loved!

The rest of the family joined in on the fun later that afternoon and opened gifts, chatted, played games, ate yummy food and playing with the cutest babies ever!

It was a great Christmas and to spend it with the people you love is even better!! We are so blessed to be surrounded by incredible people both family and friends!!

Sleepover With My Cousins

First off I can't explain the love I have for my cousins they are such a huge part of my life and I am so grateful for there love.

On the Friday before Christmas all us cousins, spouses, and little ones gathered at our home for a sleepover. We ate yummy pizza and tons of junk and loved every second of it!! It was so fun to have us all in the same place. We all have such busy lives that it takes great effort to plan things and all have the time to make it happen.

Ben and Melissa who live in Oregon came down for the holidays so they were able to come and I got to spend time with baby Jacob.

We mostly hung out and the boys played video games while Brooke and I hung out with baby Lucy and chatted. They went to sleep so I went and played Sorry with Andy. Once Ben and Melissa go there they switched to Dungeons and Dragons that they have been playing for months now. I love seeing all the boys together and bonding over a silly game.

I played with Jacob before he went to bed. He is so cute, I hadn't seen him since he was just a few months old so it was a blast being able to spend quality time with him.

I stayed up until 3:30AM with most of the cousins and then the rest of them crashed at 7 AM...We woke up at different times the next morning and hung out and tired to be conscious LOL

We all had a amazing time and we can't wait for the next one :)

Jett recently turned 6 months old on the 16th of December and what a crazy puppy he is. When we were in the process of choosing a name for the little guy I suggested Jett and at the time I had no clue that he would live up to his name to the {T}. He really is a Jett, he rarely holds still and anyone who has spent even 5 minutes with him can vouch for that. I feel bad because I have few pics of him and then I remind myself that it's not my fault he is always on the move.

He loves to bring in pieces of tree branches/twigs into the house while we are away or not looking and tears them to smithereens and then just leaves all these little things of wood all over. I am surprised I have not had any slivers in my feet. One day a few weeks ago I was laying in bed still and I hear one of the dogs come charging into the room usually means it's Jett, he comes bounding into the bed carrying a whole tree branch. I was turned away from him at first but as I rolled over there is Jett snacking on a huge tree branch in my bed. Somehow he had carried the branch past Adam in the kitchen all the way up the stairs and into bed with me. I yelled for Adam and we both had a good laugh over it. I still don't know where that thing came from. He hates the car and it's mostly because it makes him sick so when we ever take him places which is rare now because of his hatred for it we have to physically put him in the car. Last Friday we had taken the pups to daycare so I could attended Adam's work party without having the pups home alone for longer than necessary. I pick them up and put Nala in the car first and go back for Jett. I try to pick him and he rolls on his back which he does frequently. So I wrestle him and finally get a hold of him which is not easy mind you. I get to the car, put him in and before I can close the door he has jumped out. I grab him by the collar to avoid a runaway pup and again have to wrestle with him but this time is much harder. I am on my hands and knees wrestling with a 25lbish dog who is on his back squirming around so fast it is impossible to pick him up. He has wiggled so much that after just a few minutes I was out of breath and we were father from the car then I would have liked. I was getting frustrated at the point and just pick him up and basically crawled on my knees to the car carrying him and I tossed him in the car and shut the door as fast as possible. I sat there trying to catch my breath hoping no one saw the episode. Luckily it was late and dark so it wasn't seen by others thank goodness but that just shows you how much he hates the car.

I know these stories sound horrendous and in the moment they are but I have learned patience because of them and we get though it and they just become part of who he is and the story of his puppyhood (ok back to him).

He rarely whines and will bark at strangers but mostly he is very outgoing compared to Nala at this age. He loves to sleep next to things such as the wall, the dresser and the bed. His favorite thing to do is lay on his back against the wall with his legs straight in the air. He loves loves loves Nala they are so cute together and she is much happier and healthier with him around. He definitely is still a puppy and has destroyed more things than I can count but we wouldn't trade him for the world. He is loved more than words and makes us laugh and cry all in the same moment. I know his sis loves him to pieces and so do we!

I Miss This Boy...

I miss this boy soooooo much....

He has only been gone 8, 121, 600 seconds,

135,360 minutes, 2256 hours, 13 weeks, and 94 days but I still miss him like crazy!

Jordan is one of my favorite people ever!!
He is my cousin but to me more of a little brother. He left on a mission to Oaxaca Mexico on Sept 14th 2011 and will return in Sept 2013! He is such an amazing person and I love him to pieces!

Well here is the result of my crazy ideas...He looks so proper ready to go to work. He actually did mind to much which surprised me. If he tried walking with it on that's when it got complicated LOL He is such a cute boy. We love this crazy little guy!!

This post is past due since ~~most~~ all of the events that I am about to tell you about have passed..but oh well better late then never.

Lets see...

Jett turned 5 months old on 11/16/11

Boy, can looks can be deceiving lol!

He is one crazy boy always on the go and is hardly ever holding still. To get any picture is a miracle!

He love eating any stick he can find and bringing in the house to do so. Which then leaves little slivers of wood everywhere which is no fun stepping on trust me.

He loves Nala to pieces and sometimes the poor girl never gets any peace.

He growls and barks at his own shadow, he growls and barks when the doorbell rings.

He hates riding in the car and usually has to be physically put in the car when we need to take him places. He almost always up chucks about 5-10 minutes into the car ride.

He loves to sneak attack you and I have had him flying at my face more times than I can count.

He is the sweetest most cuddly thing ...when he's tired which is rare.

He loves to steal anything and everything from Nala, even if I give them both the same thing he has to steal Nala's.

He loves to give wet willies and succeeds often.

Thanksgiving was one of my favorites since being married. Adam's family all came (minus Chad and Kellie who is due with our first Nephew in 3weeks) to our house this year.

Everyone arrived to our house Wednesday night including Jake and Lewis my in laws new collie puppies that are a little younger than Jett.

and Jackson my Bro-in-law Matt's 7 week old Husky mix puppy.

So in total there were 8 people and 5 dogs. To say it was crazy at times was an understatement! Would I do it again? TOTALLY!!!

We had such great time bonding, laughing, talking, playing games,

cooking, eating, visiting family, more eating and tons of fun!

The Thanksgiving table looked so festive and colorful!

I can honestly say that I didn't want it to come to an end!

On 11/29/11 it had been 4 years since our first date. So after work on Tuesday we went to Fazoli's and had dinner and reminisced. Can't believe we have now known each other that long.

We were tired from a long day at work so we did not play Monopoly or watch When a Stranger Calls which Adam refuses to watch again because of how dumb it is. LOL

We have both been working like crazy people hence the belated blog post and trying to stay sane and happy. Looking forward to Christmas with my side of the family this year.

Today I am thankful for our jobs..

We both have worked full time ever since we got married and we have built our lives with the help of our jobs.

We have not always worked where we do now in fact we both have changed jobs a few times since 2008 but we are happy were we have landed now in terms of our jobs.

Any job has it's moments that make them not so fun and enjoyable but we would not be where we are without them.

We have been able to provide for ourselves with little help from family which we are very grateful for.

Most days, like most of America we wish we didn't have to wake up to go to work but we all know it's a necessity of life and we should just make the best of it.

Today I am thankful for my health.

Over the course of my 26 years I've dealt with serious to minor health problems most I will have forever but I have on more than occasion amazed doctors.

I have surpassed odds, overcome stumbling blocks and lived life to the best of my physical ability.

Since about high school, I have only really had to deal with minor health problems being able to do as I please for the most part.

Don't get my wrong there have been ~~alot~~ times when I ask myself why me, why did I get dealt this hand. Am I supposed to learn something from is... I know and maybe I haven't learned that part yet or maybe I have and I am learning it everyday without knowing it. All I know is I was dealt this hand and I am going to do my best with it.

I have been able to enjoy many experiences because I have been so healthy. I have been able to meet milestones that I thought I would never achieve. I have endured, I have conquered and I have been amazed at my body for all that it has overcome and withstood.

DAY ... 1

Today I am thankful for my home..

I never dreamed of owning such an amazing one as I do.

We were so blessed to be able to purchase it when we did and the timing was just perfect.

I love the area I live in and although it is quite far out in boonies I LOVE it.

It's not easy caring for and up-keeping a home it and it does come with it's own set of challenges I wouldn't trade it for the world.

It may sound silly but when I saw the ad for our house I said to Adam " that's going to be our house." I had no clue that would actually come to true at the time but I had a gut feeling and I was right.

I love having somewhere to call home. We have moved almost every year we have be married so nothing was ever home for long. On December 21st, we will have been in our home for one year! I can hardly believe it.

We have created some great memories in our home this year and there are many more to come I'm sure :)

What a [difference] 3 1/2 years makes....

Hard to believe all that has happened and all that has changed since our engagement pictures were taken in April 2008.

What a journey it's been.. not what I had envisioned for me or my family but who ever gets what they had envisioned.

"We must be willing to let go of the life we had planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us"-Joseph Campbell

That quote basically sums up 2011 for me as a person in every aspect. Life still rolls on and we make the best with what were given and love every minute.

Well for starters were all still alive and well...and busy, busy, busy as usual.

Jett turned 4 months old since I last blogged.

He is such a character that boy!!

The more time he is in our family the more we notice how different he is than Nala. He is a cutie pie

Nala loves him tons and they are inseparable. She is much more active and has even lost a few pounds since we welcomed him into our family.

Adam is loving his new job he started a month or so ago. He actually likes going to work so that is a plus.

I am still working hard at the Dr's office and trying to keep up with the demands as a wife and mom.

We traded in my Dodge Neon last weekend and got a black 2009 Toyota Prius. It has been an amazing car so far and we are getting way better gas millage with it. It will be a great to save money on gas!

[Car Seats] Are Not Just For Babies...

Last Monday I had to take Jett to the vet to get some shots and since Adam was at work I did not have him there to help me with keeping both dogs contained in the car. So I thought what could I use to contain Jett but still be safe. I have a baby car seat I received from a friend, so without giving it much thought I grabbed it and a blanket a few toys and crossed my fingers it would work.

I strapped him in with him resisting the whole time once I put him in the car he settled down a bit. When he saw that Nala was not restrained he starting resisting so I had to pull over and re-due the seat belt and to put him back in. I only had to do it once more before he knew I meant business.

It seemed like such a silly thing to be doing but if it meant keeping us three safe for the 30 min drive it would be worth it.

He dozed on and off on the ride to the vet once we were back in the car driving home he didn't resist once. He actually fell fast asleep and slept the entire ride home. I don't know if the shots made him sleepy or if he was just to tired to resist anymore but I didn't care. He was holding still and being good so I was happy. All the cars that passed me who could see in my window probably did a double take when they looked in to see a puppy in a baby car seat. Or thought I was a crazy lady LOL I know I would!

I know he is a boy in a pink car seat but you make due with what you have. LOL He sure makes this car seat look cute!!

First Moments

I take so many pictures on my phone that sometimes I forget there even there. I came across these adorable shots of our first moments with baby Jett. We had just met him and boy did our hearts melt! You can tell by the smile on Adam's face just how excited and happy he was. Jett was instantly ours, from the moment I saw him I knew he was a keeper. He has been an amazing addition to our family.

* He now weighs 12lbs at 3 months of age

* He hasn't had an accident in days and is using the dog door like a champ!

* He sleeps through the night and has not once peed on the bed.

* He and Nala are best friends they wrestle all the time and always keep an eye out for one another.

I have this app on my phone called [Snapbucket] I love it!!

It lets me add cool things to the pictures such as frames, vignettes, effects, filters. It spices up the picture and it is also a lot of fun mixing and matching different things together to make a cool photo. Well since discovering this app (free I might add) I have been taking pics galore with it.

I have posted most all of them on Facebook, so if you follow me there you will have already seen these but if not enjoy!

the [Fence]

The [fence] project that was started months ago is now officially finished and I think and Adam and I both agree that we are never going to buy another house where we have to build a fence again!! It was a huge project one that we are glad to be done with. Building a fence in the middle of the summer is torture. I was just a cheerleader and the errand runner and the lunch ~~maker~~ buyer but still it was hard to watch Adam and the guy we hired Dan work in the hot weather. We now have a place we can let the dogs run around safely and not have to watch their every move. We will slowly be able to wean off the daycare we have been sending Nala and now Jett too during the day. We have bought a dog door that is an attachment to our sliding glass door. We have to get them trained on using it and then hopefully we will able to use the daycare money on other useful things! While it was a ginormous pain in the butt we are glad we have it and it's crossed off the to-do list. Next on the list is well you'll just have to stay tuned to find out. But don't get to excited it's going to be awhile! lol

First Week Together as 4...

I have been meaning to post this but with the new little one to watch it makes blogging a lot more difficult. But I found some time finally... this is going to be a hodge podge of my thoughts on our first week with Jett.

First off, Jett is such a funny little guy. He is always doing something that is making us laugh. He is a lot like Nala but at the same time so different. We have let him sleep in our bed from practically the very first night and he hasn't had one accident. He is a great sleeper although he moves around a ton and has to find the perfect spot. He won't settle for less. He can go from dead asleep to bouncing off the walls in less than oh 5 seconds. He is always watching us and Nala and is mimicking her more and more everyday which is good in some aspects. He loves to chew on anything he can sink his teeth into. He has learned to climb up and down the stairs which means he is not as containable as before. He loves to wrestle with his sister and she is usually ready to join in. Nala has gotten over most of her jealousy and even though she doesn't like us to know she has fallen for him just like we have. Jett hardly ever whines and has only started barking softly when wrestling with Nala. He will lay down on his stomach sometimes to eat and drink if he is tired. He is the sweetest thing and we are lucky to have him! Adam and I have taken pictures throughout our first week so without further ado here they are.

Introducing...

Jett Juma Collet

Born 06/16/11

He is 10 weeks old

and weighs as 8lbs 8oz

Mr. C and I had been talking about how we wanted to get another dog and so the search began we came across a lady named Melissa who owns Moonbabymini's she is a Mini Aussie breeder down in Spanish Fork area. We contacted her and told her what we wanted to get and even though we originally wanted a girl we couldn't be happier with our Jett. We were scheduled to go look at the litter that was just born on Aug 15 on Saturday but on Monday she emailed us and said that had a 9 week old Red Tri Mini that she was willing to sell to us. We took one look at him and we were sold. We talked about it and decided it was a go. When we called her back she asked if we wanted to pick him up that day we jumped at the chance and he's been ours ever since. Nala was not too happy with the idea but she has since been gradually warming up to it. They have played together and chased each other around the yard. Nala is very protective of him and wants to know where he is at all times. She also wants whatever he is having. She has not totally adjusted to him yet but we are slowly getting there. He is the sweetest and cutest thing on the planet. It's been interesting trying to adjust to being parents to two pups. They take up most of our time besides work but they are so worth it.

As for his name... when we first started picking out a names Jett never was on the list. Then the day before I was thinking of names and I thought what about Jagger (from the song Moves Like Jagger which I love) but didn't want my puppy named after Mick Jagger (no offense) but then I thought Jett and Jagger I don't know why I put the two together but I did and so Jett became my #1 choice. Adam did not love it at first but then he said ok since you love Jett what about Jett Juma? I immediately was all for it and it's stuck. Juma was on or list as a first name but it was great for a middle name too.

Juma means Warrior in Swahili.

We are so happy he has joined our family!

I know it probably sounds lame to do a blog post on the fact that I have now been blogging for 3 years as of 08/03/08.

But since the blog means the world to me I wanted to spotlight the incredible memories it has kept safe for us to look back on.

Here is our very first blog post:

Here is our first blog!! I am excited to share what has been going on in our life for those of you who do not live close to us or do not hear from us often. Also for those who are closest to us its just fun to read about our exciting life. :) Anyhow right now our life is pretty normal. Adam is currently employed by cybernet slash support as a team leader. Me (Ashley) I am currently working at the S.M.A.R.T. Clinic as a Medical Assistant. We are greatful for our jobs since they do keep a roof over our heads and food on the table, even if its just plain ol mac & cheese. We are currently living at the Serengeti Springs apartments on the outskirts of West Jordan and we plan on being here til at least July of 09. Since our lease won't be up until then! Adam is working on finishing his filming project with his friends/filming buddies. Hopefully the movie will be done by the end of the year and they will be having a premire. I am trying to get my scrapbooking done but since the den is still a mess from unpacking I have not been in there often for fear of breaking my neck lol!! I hope to get that project going in the next month or so. I am getting so behind I might just have to take a scrapbooking vacation! I wish!!. Speaking of vacations Adam and I are looking forward to going on vacation to Disneyland with my family - in 50 days to be exact. Adam has not been to D-land since he was around 10 years of age. I can't wait to see how he likes it, plus all the cute pictures that come from vacations and thus making me even more behind in the scrapbooking department!! lol I will be updating this from time to time so please feel free to come back and read the next adventure that comes our way!! -Ashley

My, My, My how things, places, people, lives have changed since that very first post. It's amazing to see the difference in our life since then. I'm so glad I have these memories to look back on and to see everything we have been though the good/bad, happy/sad the funny/serious things that have been documented on this special blog. When I go back and re-read posts of events I have nearly forgotten about it makes me so happy that I can re-live those moments. Even the posts that are hard to re-read I am thankful for. It makes the happy posts that much better. I can't explain how much I love our little blog and I am so thankful I decide to start it.

When people find out I have a blog most are skeptical and question why a person would want to write about your life for the whole world to see. All the private things that are sometimes said. The times when my posts reveal the vulnerable side to me. That to me is priceless and to be able to get feelings on paper so to speak helps me cope and deal with things. It has also become a great stress reliever. I have no regrets and wouldn't change a thing. Thanks for reading about our many ups and downs we have been through in the past three years!

Babies...Brides...Birthdays

We have had a busy past couple of weeks. The Sunday after camping which was 7/31/11 a new member joined our family.

My cousins Brooke and Curtis had their sweet baby girl!

I had the privilege of being at the hospital when she was born and I couldn't wait to meet her. I got to see her when she was just minutes old. I don't think I've ever seen a baby that new right fresh from the womb before it definitely was the most amazing experience. I was able to get some great pictures to document this monumental occasion. She is the sweetest thing on the planet and we are so thrilled she chose our family to join. We loved her before she was born and we love her even more now if that is possible.

The weekend after Lucy was born Adam's sister Sara married her prince Clark on 08/06/11. The wedding was beautiful and I hope it was everything she hoped and dreamed it would be. We had a great time being with Adam's side of the family, since we don't see them as often. We are excited to have Clark join our family! We know he will make Sara very happy and vice versa. Sara looked radiant and happier than I have ever seen her. I hope they have many years of happiness!

Our Nala turned 2 on 08/10/11. I can't believe she is 2 already!! She is the sweetest puppy I have met (I am a bit bias).

She has enriched our lives more than ever imagined. Even without words you know your are loved and I never doubt that. I love that she still has some puppy in her even though she is mostly out of the puppy phase. It's hard for me to not call her a puppy since I have always called her that. She is one of a kind that can and will never be replaced. With the recent scare It made me realize even more how much our hearts are intertwined, I would do anything for her just like a child. I am so glad I took time off work to take her to the vet last Thursday I don't want to know what could have happened and I am glad I don't have to find out.

We are blessed to have such a special family member.

First Ever...

First ever camping trip as a married couple. I know some of you may be surprised since as you know Adam loves the outdoors. I love it too but not nearly as much. We have been wanting to go camping for along time actually ever since we got married, we even got a nice tent for a bridal shower gift. But alas no camping had taken place until the weekend of the 24th of July. We went up to the Unita National Forest to the Ponderosa campground. Our site was great, out of the way, close to the river and they allowed dogs. It was a short trip but we had a fabulous time. It was just the 3 of us until Saturday night when our besties Matt and Beckie Mabey came up and kept us company. We had amazing kabobs, baked beans and cold watermelon it was delish. We roasted marshmallows and chatted until the stars came out! This was only my second time camping ever in my life so I was a little nervous. I didn't sleep to well the first night and since Nala wasn't to sure about the tent she slept right next to me. Everyone slept better the next night. We will for sure go back at some point hopefully soon but since it took us 3 years just to go camping once i'm not holding breath about a second camping trip in the same year.

What can I tell you that you don't know

I think at 16 you thought you knew it all.

You think you are so mature for your age and in some ways you are but oh, there is so much you have to learn.

What is there to learn about at 16 well...I am going to tell you.

You will learn things about

life

relationships

patience

boys

loyalty

family

faith

responsibility

and so much more

they will all prepare you for what it about to happen in your life.

It's sometimes hard to remember you at this age.

You live your life with your heart on your sleeve and usually everyone knows where they stand in your eyes.

You are a hopeless romantic, scared that you may never find the one. You turn to Internet dating as a way to meet guys and they don't hesitate to break your heart and I wish I could go back in time and change who you let into your life.

Even the guys who were in your life for a very short time were a building block to your future. Your heart will get broken and you will question your intentions and will give up but don't worry, because you will end up marrying that boy.

You are a "typical" teenage girl in so many ways.

You love all the favorite TV shows, Friday night movies, trips to the grocery store for SoBe's with the girls, many girls nights and sleepovers.

High School is the time of your life

something that I hope you will cherish.

Hopefully you will remember all the amazing people who enriched your life and forget those that tried to bring you down.

Many fond memories will be made during those years.

There is also something that is different about you,

some part of you that doesn't fit with what people see on the outside. They don't understand and will tease and make fun but I am proud of you for making it and holding your head up and trying to not let them get to you.

from someone so close to you for such a long time.

months later on March 14, 2006 you would experience

the loss of an aunt. It would be hard on your family

and would bring them closer if that's possible.

When your older, you'll remember the late night talks,

the slumber parties,

the school dances,

your high school graduation

a moment that you thought would

never come.

You will come to love the medical field and

will spend countless hours working with

people of all ages. It will bring great

reward and accomplishment into your life

While working in the medical field

you will meet someone who you never knew existed

someone who would quickly grow to be your

best friend a friend that is hard to come by.

She will make you laugh and cry,

and trust her like a sister.

I wonder how different things would have been for you,

Like if you had known your best friend for life would be someone one that dated your cousin. Even when she was Dear Jane'd by him on his mission that would not impact your friendship much.

on November 29, 2007 you would meet that boy you now call your husband who from the very first date knew was the one. That Christmas he would tell his family that he would be marrying the love of his life even though they barely knew you. You will be

He will propose to you on 02/13/08

instead of 02/14/08 like he had planned just

so you would be surprised.

You will choose 5 wedding dates before

settling on May 31, 2008.

the days with anticipation and excitement.

you will be sealed to your best friend

on that special day.

I wish I could tell you that your appreciation

and love for your mother

a puppy to your family. The beginning will not

be easy but please hold on and don't give up

should invest in a back brace for all

You will take it very hard but like

with most challenges you face

you get back up and keep moving

It will test your own faith and

what you believe. It will not be

even though it would have been easy

to walk away you choose to remain

at his side because you know deep down

he is your soul mate.

like that would happen to you,

you realize their were red flags

and warnings but being the person

you are you choose to overlook them

as nothing. You will regret doing that

but now it is too late.

You decide to start new and try

your best to get back on the horse

and keep going. It will not be

easy but slowly you are making progress.

I wish I could have told you all

the silly things you would become

addicted to because I'm sure you would

have not believed me.

Like NASCAR, baby clothes, reality TV,

Facebook, and blogging

I wish I could tell you to do certain

things differently, to change

some parts of who you were.

But that would like re-writing history.

A history that has resulted in a life you have today,

the life that makes you happy.

So I guess the only advise left to give you is:

be YOU,

try and stay true to YOU,

Flat Tire Friday

This past week has been one of the worst to date. I don't usually have weeks like this one has been. They are rare and I don't want to have another anytime soon. On Friday when we were driving to work we were about 5 miles or so from home when we got a flat tire. While we were sitting in the car figuring out what to do a stranger knocked on the window and asked if we needed help changing our tire. I said yes and so I opened the trunk and got the spare tire. We didn't have a tire iron so he got his and he began trying to get the lug nuts off. Since my lug nuts are 3 inches deep into the hubcap we have a special tool we have to use to get the lug nuts off. He got 2 off but when he was trying to get the third one off the special tool split an inch down the side and bent a little. At that point we knew we were going to have to call a tow truck. The nice stranger left and we waited about 20 minutes for the tow truck. We had Nala with us since we usually drop her off at daycare before we go to work. The tow truck arrived and because there was not room in the truck for all 4 of us she had to ride in the car while on the tow truck. She would not get in the car at first so Adam had to pick her up and put her in the car. After she knew she was safe she poked her head up and look around.

We got to Big O Tires and ended up having to get two new tires. This certainly was not in our Friday plans but seeing Nala sitting in the drivers seat with what looked like a big grin on her face and Adam and I were both OK it made it seem not as bad. It's not fun spending hundreds on tires but its better then something else that is worse. We hope we don't have to do that again for a long while.

Father's Day [2011]

Father's Day has always been a interesting holiday for me. Growing up and not having a father was hard. The only thing that made up for it was the amazing Grandpa I have. I felt like he was my Dad, I still feel that way. He was always there for me and helped raise me as if I was his own. He is a blessing in my life and I can't put into words how much he means to me. I am a grandpa's girl through and through. Over the years he has been my main male figure that I could look up to. We loved spending time together, watching wrestles and silly reality TV shows. He has been someone I turn too for advice and support in times of trouble. When I received Adam's news back in January he was the first person I wanted to turn to for comfort and for a shoulder to cry on. I know that he will always have my back and I love him for that. He has taught me so much and that you can't put a price on. He is one of my best friends!

On Father's Day in 2009 one of my dreams came true and I met the man that over the years I knew very little about my Dad. Although our relationship is not how I pictured it being, it works and although I would love to spend more time with him the distance in where we live does not allow it. We both have busy lives and we see each other as often as we can. I enjoy spending time with him and his family. We have 24 years to make up and although that seems impossible we are slowing getting there. I hope that our bond continues to grow and develop. We have so many things in common. We look a lot alike we have the same sense of humor and we are both stubborn people. We have similar passions and loves.
Just this year I was able to see my Dad on my actual birthday. That was a first for us and it was so fun. I am looking forward to many more firsts.

Last but certainly not least my own Adam. He is the most amazing Dad to Nala. He loves her like no one else. Nala and I have our own bond and Nala and Adam have theirs. She loves Adam so much and I am always catching them cuddling together. She is the sweetest thing you will ever meet. He is so protective over her and makes sure she is always safe. He comforts her, plays with her, gives her a bath, feeds her and takes her for walks. He praises her, disciplines her, wrestles with her, and loves every ounce of her just like I do. Both of our lives changed the day we welcomed her into it. She brightens, warms and melts your heart all with one look. She is the apple of his eye and I know he would do anything he had to to protect her and he would never let anything happen to her. If he is this protective over her I can't imagine how he will be with when our own children come along. I am grateful for the closeness we both share with Nala. She is a piece of heaven and we look forward to giving her a little sister to play with once the fence is complete. Thanks honey for taking such good care of our baby!!!

Words Can Hurt.....

I wonder often why people say the things they say and last Friday was no exception. It happened at work and although I don't usually talk about what goes on at work this incident I just can't seem to shake so I thought what better way to get it off my chest was to write about it.

(I have left names out to protect privacy)

On Friday we were winding down from the busy day at work and over the weekend they were going to be having all the floors re-surfaced and so everything had to be moved off of the tile so the workers could do there job. Most everyone started hauling things out onto the carpeted area. Me, H and P had begun to unplug all the x-ray equipment we use during our injections. We were having fun chatting and talking about our up-coming weekends. I went to unplug one of the main power switches to the x-ray C-arm and I noticed it said the word danger on it so I asked the radiologist tech if I could unplug it even though it said danger on it. H said he shouldn't do it since he has 5 mouths to feed and he then chimed in and said "ya I can't afford to have anything happen to me." he then said what shocked me. He said " you should do it since your going to die soon anyway, your expendable." Both him and H started laughing and I was in so much shock my first reaction was to chuckle with them since that's usually what I do when someone teases me or makes fun of me somehow. I said while chuckling "I can't believe you just said that." I did not tell anyone what had just happened since I was still processing the conversation. H and I had a double date planned with our spouses and we continued on with our plan. We talked about it at dinner and even then it didn't seem real. I like my co-worker P and for him to say what he did shocked me. I thought that I could trust him and I felt as though everything that I had told him about my health I could tell him without him throwing it back in my face. It didn't really hit me until the next day when I was driving alone in the car on my way home and thinking about his comments and listening to the radio when the song came on If I Die Young by the band Perry and I got teary eyed just listening to the words. It's hard living day to day with death in the back of your mind. I don't not think about it a lot but it's there for sure. I think when you live with health problems it unfortunitly becomes your whole life, it becomes apart who you are. Everyday I am alive I consider myself a survivor. Nobody understands what I have been through other than me. My family has lived it, breathed it, and it also has become apart of them. It is becoming apart of Adam with each passing day. I am grateful he was willing to marry me despite all the challenges I brought with me.

If you don't know who Paul Cardall is you should because he is one of my hero's. He has a congenital heart defect not quite like me but close. On one of his blog post he said this "I have been blessed my whole life to have severe congenital heart disease. I am far from perfect and needed this in my life to teach me things I could have never learned without it. As a result, I am a witness of God's hand in our lives. I've observed many miracles in my own life." I have never really looked at my health as a blessing but it has definitely taught me to not take things for granted and to try and live in the moment. To live life to the fullest. I know that it is a miracle that I am alive and doing well today and that I have been given each precious day to become better. It its is very hard to see the good in sometimes a very heavy hand your dealt. I am still getting to that point where I look at it as a blessing. It's been 26 years and it doesn't get easier. I know I may sound as if I am complaining but sometimes that's the only way I know how to express my feelings. Tomorrow will be a better day and I an grateful for a fresh new day.

News...News...News...

I finally have a minute that I can blog. I have been so busy and trying to catch up on all the laundry, cleaning and sleep. As soon as we returned home from vacation it was straight back to work. A lot has happened in the Collet family since you heard from me last. I will try and keep this short since it's late and I'm getting tired lol.

1. We celebrated our 3 year wedding anniversary on 05/31. I can't believe it's been 3 years since my life changed forever and my has it changed more than I ever imagined. It has been a roller coaster and I have learned more about myself and about Adam. We are at a place in life where I never imagined we would be. I am grateful to have him by my side.

2. I turned another year older (26) now. We went to Nephi to visit my Dad, Step mom, and Half Bro and to eat breakfast! I am so blessed to have him in my life, something I never would have thought possible. It has been weird saying the word Dad over the past almost 2 years. For so long that word never was in my vocabulary since I didn't have a face to put the name too. I'm grateful for the relationship we do have and hope it keeps growing. We then went to the Olive Garden with my family later that day to celebrate. We finished off the night seeing X-Men First Class with friends. It was a great b-day!

3. We found out Adam's oldest Brother Chad and his wife Kellie

are expecting a new little one on Dec 28, 2011

I can't wait until he/she (I think it's a boy) joins our family!

4. On Saturday we found out that Adam's sister got engaged to Clark Pixton. It came as a shock to us since we have even met him yet. She is getting married August 6th and I have been asked to take her bridals pictures. I know they will be amazing! We are excited for them.

Day 4...Lion Country Safari

We spent most of our day 4 at this amazing park called Lion Country Safari. Its a 4 mile drive through safari park. When you enter the park they give you CD that informs you about the animals along the way. It was very informative. As you drive though there are wildlife just roaming around and sometimes right in front of your car. We wished all zoos were like this, it really gave the animals a lot of room to roam. We were not aloud to roll down our windows but I could have at times rolled them down and touched a rhino or a zebra! It was amazing. They also have a walk through park as well where you can ride a camel, feed the baby goats. You can go on a nature walk! In the middle of our walk through it started pouring and since its so humid in FL we did not mind at all. We were dripping wet when it quit raining and were dry pretty quick. After we were finished we went to Checker's a burger and fry place I had never heard of but it was very good. When then got changed at the hotel and headed to the beach. The ocean we rough and at times were creating 6 foot waves. It was so fun getting tossed around by them. It wears you out after awhile. Since we were leaving the next day on our anniversary we decided to celebrate it the day before. We got cleaned up and went to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner. We sat outside and had a yummy dinner and enjoyed a heavenly piece of White Chocolate Raspberry Truffle cheesecake. We wanted to see a movie and choose Bridesmaids. It definitely was a funny movie. We had a great day!!

Day 3...Sea World

We made the 2.5 hr drive to Orlando to go to Sea World on Sunday and boy was it packed. I did not expect it to be so crowded. Overall I enjoyed it especially the One Ocean Killer Whale show and the Dolphin show. I was overjoyed when Adam and I both got the chance to touch a dolphin. I have touched one before but it was Adam's first time. It was super fun. We to do most everything we wanted to. It pretty expensive and the food buffet was awful and wished I could have gotten my money back. I tried to not let that ruin my experience. We sat in the soak zone at the Shamu show and the show was more than half way over and we have only been sprinkled on but when they had the whales slap there tails against the water it made such a splash. They had done it to every section and I thought oh great they forgot about us...oh no we got soaked!!!!!! I put the camera under my shirt to protect it but that only provided a little protection. Adam was dripping wet and I was glad that it was so warm so we were able to dry off very quickly. We sat in the soak zone at the Dolphin show as well but did not get nearly as wet. It was a great day!

Day 2... Beach Time

We woke up at about 9AMish and ate breakfast in our room and then got our swim gear on and packed up the little cooler and some snacks and headed for the beach. There is private beach access just for the hotel guests so we went there first. It's a tad rocky so we drove down a ways to another spot where its a little less rocky. We found a perfect spot and headed into the water. I can now say I have been in the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. The water is a tad chilly but you adjust quick. We had a blast playing in the water. I love the waves and could not stop smiling. Everything about being here is perfect. We had fun challenging each other to silly games. We got out of the water after about an hour and then rested on the beach working on our tans. Adam took a nap and I read a magazine. We ate some snacks and people watched. We decided we had had enough beach time and headed back to the car. The sand here is scorching hot and I swear I thought I was going to end up with bad burns on the bottoms of my feet. Flip Flops were hardly any protection since sand can easily get in. I was tempted to just pick them up and run but since I was carrying an arm full of things It wasn't an option. We arrived back at the hotel and freshened up and I blogged while the hubs napped. We then headed to the Juno Beach Boardwalk, we had to pay a dollar to walk on it. We both got ice cream bars and walked along the boardwalk. Ice cream bars in Jupiter Florida don't last long before they are running everywhere, I think I maybe got 3 bites in before it got so messy that I ended up throwing it away. I have never seen so many people fishing in my life from kids to women to teenage boys to men. They are serious about there fishing around these parts of the USA. They had every possible thing you could need for such a sport. They would run from one part of the dock to the next trying to catch a particular fish. They had already got some big ones and they were just lying on the dock. We had a great time watching them in their element and how they were so passionate about such a thing. We were hungry by this time so we found a pizzeria called Costello's, they had delicious pizza and while we were there they had a guy actually singing while we ate. It was very nice and romantic. I was so full afterwards. Since you can't really do much when its dark we decided to hit a movie. We had not yet seen Kung Fu Panda 2 so we saw that and really liked it. It was way late by the time it was over. They have 12:10 showings for just about every movie which we thought was interesting usually only the new movies coming out get a midnight showing but not here! We were so pooped by the time our heads hit the pillows that It took me about a minute to fall asleep. What a great day for sure! I love Florida more and more everyday!

Day 1...The Beginning

Yesterday we left on our vacation to Florida. We woke up at 4 AM in order to give us 45 minutes to get ready and spend some time with Nala before leaving. We were so busy gathering last minute things that I didn't have time to be sad about leaving Nala for 5 days. I think I was more sad the day before. Goodbyes are always hard for me. We drove to the airport and got a parking spot, we remembered to take pictures of our parking station as to not forget when we return. We saw the bus at the stop so we ran trying to make it but the bus was to full so we had to wait for the next one. We arrived to the security line which was very long. I was glad the it moved at a steady pace. We got through it with no problems and got to our gate in plenty of time. Our flight to Denver was uneventful and easy. It was only about a 50 minute flight. When we were landing another plane in front of us did not taxi off in time so was had to go back up and make a loop around in order to land again. We got off at gate B87 and in order to get to our connecting flight gate to Ft. Lauderdale we had to go clear to gate B18 which was about a 20 min walk. Adam's suitcase handle is broken so it doesn't allow you to pull it up in order for it to roll so he had to carry it the whole time, poor boy. By the time we got the gate we both need about 2 naps to get our energy back. Good thing they had moving walkways to help ease the brunt of it. We had about 2 hours until our plane began boarding. We got lunch at Pizza Hut Express and I got some magazines (an essential for long plane rides). We boarded the plane sitting close to the back but not all the way to the back. We ended up sitting on the runway for 40 min before taxing out to take off. The TV's were a great distraction but when we took off they turned off unless you paid $7.99. We got through the 3.5 hour flight and once again had to walk forever to get to the rental call place. We had not reserved one before coming so we were not sure how it would turn out. They had many to choose from but we ended up going with Thrifty. They were able to get us a 2010 Toyota Corolla for a great price. We had nice 1.5 hour drive to our hotel. Man is it breath taking here. We arrived and got our room #915, we got on the elevator and go to press 9 but there was no 9 so we go to 8 thinking there might be a way to floor 9 but there wasn't we went back down and asked one of the bus boys. They said it was the penthouse floor so we are staying on the penthouse floor which feels very expensive lol. We love our room its amazing!! Once we got settled we went to the grocery store to buy snacks for the beach and stuff for breakfast. We decided to have dinner first and the Outback Steakhouse was right next to the store so we went there. It was great for our first real meal of the day. We got our groceries and headed back to the hotel. We watched National Treasure while listening to the waves crash outside. We decided to leave the sliding glass doors open but the curtains closed so we could still hear the beach. It was nice drifting off to sleep with the waves as my lullaby. I am excited for us to begin our vacation and can't wait to see what it has in store for us. I can't help but miss my NaNa (Nala) but I know she is well cared for but my sister-in-law Erin. It has been a stressful past couple of weeks with the fence project going on. It we will be nice to get away from the sometimes mundane day to day things and to explore a new part of the USA. I have never been here before but I have heard nothing but great things and so far they have exceeded my expectations. We are excited to be here celebrating our 3rd wedding anniversary on the 31st. I am grateful to have the opportunity to have time with my hubby and to build more memories together. More posts to come and pictures!!

As part of my birthday gift even though my birthday is still a little over 2 weeks away (June 4th.) Mr.C surprised me yesterday with tickets to see the American Idol tour on July 6th!!!

I had been telling him how much I really wanted to go and I know he did too. This is the first season I have really wanted to go, everyone is so great this year and I wanted to see them perform live.

So I got my wish and can't wait....thanks babe!!

This girl is the apple of our eye..she is so amazing, hairy but amazing!

Some things that she has done lately.

- she loves to chase cats

- she loves when we roll down the window of the car

she used to be soooo scared when we did that

- she is so protective

today she started growling at a motorcycle guy driving in the lane next to us with a big black helmet on

- she loves ice cubes and would eat them all day if she could

- when she wants food you have she will whine and do a funny shuffle dance

- as soon as she hears the tub water running in the guest bathroom she knows its not good and its bath time

- she loves any toy that makes noise and gets so proud of herself when she makes it squeak by herself

- she is a lot more lovey dovey lately and will let you hold her for more than 5 mins as long as you scratch her belly

-she loves to go on car rides

- I have to put cheese wiz on her allergie medication or else she will just spit it out

- she is so good at fetch but once she gets the ball then she plays keep away

- when we chain her up in the backyard she has to be able to see one of us or she goes crazy

- she is so good with little kids

- she loves salt and vinegar chips

- she uses a pillow like a human

- she is loved more than she will ever know

- we love her more than she will know

she is the apple of our eye!

{DIY} Wall Photo Collage

I found this amazing blog by accident, but I have loved it and I am now a faithful reader.

Every so often she has a do it yourself project post and this time I decided I would try it. It was a so simple and it didn't cost me a penny.

You will have to click the the link above to see what I am talking about but...

In her photo wall collage she did all her pictures a sepia color, I chose not to since I already had enough color prints and I didn't want to pay for prints.

She did hers a lot more coordinated and thought out I just put my pics up in random order.

The thing I love about this project is it's so easy and you can fit it in any space big or small and add or subtract as many pics as you want.

Here's how mine turned out and it probably took me about a 1/2 hour to do by the time I cut all the pictures to 4 x 4.

I decided to do a row of 5 x 7's to help fill up some of the space. I love how the 5 x 7's break it up a little bit.

As you can see I didn't go all the way down to the dresser top because I want to be able to add more pictures.

I LOVE how it turned out and every time I walk into our room I'm reminded of all the great times we have had from before we got married to now.

If you decide to make your own I can't wait to see how amazing it turns out.

Our Car Stole Our Keys

Have you ever locked your keys in your car?

Well we have and last night was a nightmare to say the least..oh boy!

So we had a fabulous time eating dinner with my family and as we were about to leave I asked Adam if he had the keys since he drove us to my families. He didn't have them and I was worried that I had lost them.

I told him to check the car and see if they were in there...sure enough they were in the ignition...oh man

So my grandpa graciously offered to take us home, so we gathered our things and hopped in his car and started going home we got about 10 minutes away from our house when Adam asked wait how are we going to get in the house if our house key in on the key ring that's in the locked car...OH BOY

I told him call your sister she might have not have pulled the latch on our third garage while she was getting her stuff out yesterday..well she did pull the latch which we told her to do.

We then debated on whether we could find a way in...We all decided it would best to drive back and get the spare key to our house that my grandparents and mom keep in case of emergency's. So we headed back and I called my mom and asked her to meet us a quarter of the way there to help with the drive. She met us at 9800 south we got the key and made our way back home. We got home got the spare car key. I rode back with my grandpa so I could get my car and drive it back home. It was way late by the time we actually got everything taken care of..

It was a nightmare but on the plus side it nice to spend that extra time with my grandpa.

All in all everything worked out fine but I hope that doesn't for awhile.. and we will probably be making a few more house keys and hiding them so we have a way in if something like this happens again.

I'm sure that's happened to everyone who reads this if so leave a comment or make your own post about a time when you locked your keys in your car.

What would you do if you only had one day, one week or one month to live?

That is a hard question one I hope I never have to find an answer to but for me... I know I would quit my job for one thing. I would be with my closest family whenever possible, I would sing a little louder and dance a little longer. I would laugh more and cry more. I would talk more and probably take more pictures. I would take more walks, see more things. If possible travel to a wishful destination or go on a few road trips. I would eat more and drink as much diet coke as I wanted. I would give more hugs and more kisses. I would be with friends. I would not care about the weather or the time I would care less about my looks I would wear what I felt like wearing. I would write letters for those left behind expressing my love for them. Most of all just LIVE IN THE MOMENT!

The reason of all this is this...

Since I have Monday's off I find myself bored/procrastinating the house work and so I turn to Netflix and usually find something to watch. This past Monday I was searching some of the new releases and I came across this movie...

{Here is the Synopsis}

When confronted with his mortality, Ben Tyler (Joshua Jackson) impulsively buys a vintage motorcycle and sets off on a road trip that starts in Toronto and ends up on Vancouver Island in the town of Tofino. Humorous, profound and extremely moving, One Week uses the great Canadian landscape as the backdrop to the story of a man and his life's journey. In the search for himself, he finds out what makes this country, and his life, so beautiful.

At first I thought It sounded boring but I decided to give it a try and not judge it based of a tiny synopsis. It definitely wasn't a blockbuster or anything but it reminded me of something you would see at a film festival. I would recommend it and would watch it again.

At the very end there is this monologue and I loved what it said.

You get those rare moments of clarity those flashes when the universe makes sense, you try desperately to hold on to them. They are the lifeboats for the darker times, when the vastness of it all, the incomprehensible nature of life is completely elusive.

So the question becomes or should have always been.

What would you do if you only had one day, one week or one month to live?

What lifeboat would you grab onto?

What secret would you tell?

What band would you see?

What person would you declare your love to?

What wish would you fulfill?

What exotic locale would you fly to?

What book would you write?

What would you do?

We all have dark times in our lives but the happy times are our lifeboats and sometimes grabbing a hold of one is all that will keep us from sinking. I sometimes feel as though this blog is in a way a lifeboat for me. It holds some of the most happiest things of my life, things that I want never to forget moments that are now in a way frozen in time. I love that I can grab onto it whenever I need to remind myself that even though I may be going through a rough moment I can look and see that the magical moments out number them all.

New Calling

I received a new calling yesterday.. I am going to be a primary teacher for the 4 year olds! I have 4-6 children in my class (so far 2 boys 2 girls). It will be a fun adventure and I'm sure I will grow to love them just like I did my sunbeam class that Adam and I taught!

Soul Surfing..

Last week I saw this movie...

I loved the movie, I thought it had a great message and also the surfing in the movie was amazing. I've known surfing to exists and I've seen people attempt it but it didn't look anything like the amazing surfers in this movie. I have since been fascinated by the idea and the risk/reward people get from it. I looked up the word surfing on Wikipedia and it says this about surfing.

Surfing is a surface water sport in which a person (the surfer) rides a board on the crest of a wave as it carries the surfer towards the shore.

That makes it sound so easy. But the amount of energy and patience it takes to surf in incredible. The amount of time and energy people put into surfing is amazing, to some its a way of life their world revolves around it. I had no idea that people take it so seriously and that its a way of life for some. I always just thought it was just a hobby but its not and that's what makes it so much more interesting. I love watching it and seeing the amazing things people can do. I now wish it was a lot more acknowledged as a sport than it is.

Patience is a characteristic that surfers should learn particularly now that breaks are attracting more crowds than before. It emphasizes the importance of persistence to become a true surfer. Reaching that bend may require more effort than other sports because of the uncertainty of the open sea.

That seems so true with other sports you have the tools to accomplish what your goal is but with surfing you are counting 100% of what mother nature gives you. To me that is more of a sport since you have to work harder at accomplishing your goals that way and the satisfaction in knowing you got what you needed without knowing it was going to be there in the the beginning.

Lately

There isn't much new going on in the Collet household..same ol..same ol but thats ok I like it that way sometimes.

Here are somethings that I am excited for..things I have done or am looking forward to doing...

First and foremost our family has expanded by 1, my cousin Ben and his wife Melissa welcomed Jacob Payson Pistorius into the world on 04/11/11. He is so precious and amazing!!

I read Nicholas Sparks new book Safe Haven in about 24 hours...such a great read, I couldn't put it down!

We are planting our trees we bought this weekend excited to see the finished look and to watch them grow!

I put blond highlights in my hair 2 weeks ago and I now have some bangs..love it

The book "Two Kisses for Maddy" comes out tomorrow!! If you haven't heard about it go here and read his incredible story.

Nala is 20 months old and is cute as can be...

Were going to Florida in little over a month..YAY

Our [Garden] Journey...

I wanted to document the start of our [Garden] since this our first time taking on such a big project. I'm a little nervous not going to lie..but we are hoping to succeed. We are also planting flowers and trees.We recently purchased trees and shrubs and we are picking them up on the 16th of April. I am excited at the prospects of what the outcome could be.. only time will tell!!

C is for {Cabela's}...

Last weekend Mr.C took me to Cabela's for the first time. We had a blast just looking at all the fun things. That place is huge and there prices are outrageous but it gave us some great ideas of things we want to buy for our next camping excursion or the new gun Mr. C wants to buy or the fun things for Nala. We told each other we were not going to buy anything and I am happy to report that we stuck to our word although we did have a few things in our hands we decided against them. I love experiencing new things with Adam we always have fun together and that is definitely one of things I love about him. They have huge wildlife that are on display here are some pictures of them. Most of them I would not want to ever come in contact with. Taking a picture of a stuffed one is much safer lol!
