{Collet} Life....

Life in the Collet house couldn't be better!! With the exception a few household things here and there it is pretty darn good. We are as busy as ever and yet life is good. Adam and I both have great paying jobs and Nala is happy as a clam! We are soooo close to being debt free we can taste it. We both have been working hard to pay off debt and save for a house that we can't wait to own. Both Adam and my family are happy and healthy and to me what more could you ask for!! I have been working 2 jobs for a couple of months now and so far hasn't drained me to much plus the extra money is nice. We recently bought tickets to see the Trans Siberian Orchestra in November and we are excited to go to that. We are going to a murder mystery show in a couple of weeks and next week is the circus! You can of course bet there will be pics to come of that event. We are so blessed to have everything working in our favor right now and we are so happy not only in life but in our marriage. I love Adam more now then when I married him, everything we have experienced together and have learned not only about each other but ourselves has only made us stronger. We have had our ups and downs as any marriage does but I can't wait to see what the future holds!!

Picture Frame

This picture frame looks like a normal picture frame but it has a funny story behind it.
 I bought this picture frame when we were about to move into the house in Millcreek (a year ago) and the whole time we lived there it sat on the bathroom counter with no picture in it yet.
I kept meaning to put a put a picture in it but never got around to it. It now has been a year and its still sitting on our bathroom counter with no picture in it!! LOL
I don't know when i'll get the chance to put a picture in it but for now it's empty waiting for the right picture to go in it. I hope that someday it will go to good use otherwise It will just take up space on the bathroom counter forever. I look at the frame everyday too...It just goes to show me how busy life is and that putting a picture in a frame is a last priority!! LOL

Our Trip Was {ZOO}-pendous!

This was the first time Adam and I had been to the Zoo this year and it was the first time for Adam's two sisters Erin and Sara. We had a great time seeing all the animals and most of them were pretty active. We saw the bird show they have there and although Sara and Erin are terrified of birds they seemed to enjoy it as well. They kept ducking when the birds would fly overhead it was hilarious. I think my favorite thing was the baby elephant Zuri. She is adorable and very curious. They have the bear section under construction so that was kind of disappointing and we didn't get to see the penguins, hippos or any bears. The dangerous creatures area was not very entertaining either. Oh well we had a fun day and the crowds weren't bad at all which made the viewing the animals that much better. The weather was perfect and made for a lovely day. After the Zoo we went out to lunch at Cafe' Rio! Adam and I both love that place and so do Sara and Erin so it was a great way to end our time together. I always love spending time with Sara and Erin getting to know them even better our bond has grown so much in the 2ish years Adam and I have been married.
Adam and I are blessed to have them in our lives and I am excited
for all the fun things the future has in store for them!! It was a great Saturday one that Adam and I both desperately needed. Thanks girls!!

Something to {PoNDeR}

Today I was reading this blog {spencerandkylie.blogspot.com} and I stumbled across this post that really struck me and I wanted to share it....so here it is... Enjoy!!

home.
memories.
family.
old friends.
old boyfriends.
old stomping grounds.

i love it all.
the memories we have, both the good and the bad.
they're nice to have.
it reminds us who we are.
it tells our story.
it all fits in one big picture that defines YOU.

it's funny how all it takes in life is a change.
a move.
a new path.
leaving something behind,
but looking forward to something new.
change is good, but change is hard.
above all--people change.
one day, you are with that someone every day.
best of friends. inseperable.
the next, you are gone.
haven't spoken a word in days, months, or years.
it's crazy how that happens, isn't it?

life keeps moving. we keep moving.
but our memories stand still.
and each day we create new ones.
until one day, when we're old and chubby,
we smile and look back at our photographs or journals and say,

"wow. i had a good life. how blessed i am."

just remember when you're down, sick, depressed, alone, or struggling...
with something, anything.
there is ALWAYS someone who is struggling more.
maybe even fighting the exact same battle as you
life is ever evolving.
be grateful for who you are, where you are,
what you're doing and who you're with.
life is beautiful. it really is.

we live in a free country.
the united states of america is a land many people take for granted.
be grateful you have food in your cupboards and a bed to sleep on.
maybe even a TV and an over stuffed closet.
too many pairs of shoes to count,
more than enough gadgets or surfboards.
whatever it is... be grateful.

there are children living in poverty who don't have any "stuff."
conditions beyond imaginable.
with family and a dangerous job working in the mines of bolivia at age 8,
for $2 a day.
risking death daily to provide for their little family.
there are children in countries where they are not allowed to go to shool.
they cannot learn.
or progress.
they are stuck.

there are children living in countries where religion is banned.
coming unto christ is NOT an option.
worshipping as you wish is NOT an option.
there are children who have seen the effects of war.
who have experienced it FIRST HAND.
who have watched their loved ones die.
yet, they still carry on.

love everyone you meet. love your life. hold your family dearest.
because they're the ONLY ONES who will be there in the end.
that, and a conscience that questions, "did i do enough?"

{Life As We Know It}

I wanted to document how crazy our life is right now.
I know that sometime in the future it will calm down and I want to look back at all the things we were able to juggle {at least trying to anyway}. LOL

Let's start with Mr. C first he is:
1. Husband
2. Father to Nala {which involves alot}
3. Full time worker {Spillman Technologies}
4. Part time student {SLCC--Physics & English}
5. Full time Program Creator
6. Banker {he pays the bills}
7. Electrician {keeps all electronics running smoothly}
8. Helps with chores and errands...etc
Not only that but he has tons of homework that takes hours to do and it's only the second week in class. Ugh

Here is what I have to do:
1. Wife
2. Mother to Nala {is alot}
3. Working Full time {Medical Assisting}
4. Working Part time {Photographer at JCPenny's}
5. Photography side jobs
6. Family Functions
7. Social Event Planner {schedules hangout w/ friend time}
8. Laundry, Dishes, Cooks {as often as possible}, Cleaning, Shopping.....

I'm sure I have missed many things that fill up our day but I know one day I want to look back and see what kinds of things fill up our days so much so that when our head hits the pillow were out! I am glad we have a busy life that reaps many rewards for us. It's not always going to be like this and part of me is glad but this is life as we know it right now!

Adam's Wordy Wednesday

Ashley sometimes does a Wordless Wednesday - a picture with few or no words to describe it.

Here is my Wednesday think - not that you should count on it being a pattern ... it may or may not ever happen again.

Three "words of the day" for you.  These are words that in the past month or so have just entered my consciousness and would NOT go away, like a song stuck in your head.  In all cases, I pretty much knew the meaning, but a refresher proved .... refreshing.

Without further ado:

Gestalt - in my words: "a sum greater than its parts; a meta effect/pattern," according to Wiktionary: "A collection of physical, biological, psychological or symbolic entities that creates a unified concept, configuration or pattern which is greater than the sum of its parts (of a character, personality, or being)"

Raison d'ĂȘtre - in my words: "reason for being; purpose in life," according to Wiktionary: "The claimed reason for the existence of something or someone; the purpose of something or someone."

Egregious - in my words: "obviously erroneous; highly visible failure," according to Wiktionary: "Exceptional, conspicuous, outstanding, most usually in a negative fashion," or simply "Outrageously bad."

Hope you enjoyed.   Now go use them in daily conversation :)

Spider {WEB}

A couple of nights ago I spotted this spider web by the stairs leading up to our apartment and so I told Adam about it. The next time he went out to he said that he had destroyed the web and that it was gone......right well not even 24 hrs later this is what we found! I guess the spider got away!!
