Nala + Couch = TrOuBlE

Take a good look at this adorable face

Look at what this adorable face did to the bottom of the couch

Now all the damage wasn't done at once it's been over time. Whenever her toy goes under the couch and she wants to get it she will try her best to squeeze as much of her body under it and just scratch away. We didn't know what kind of damage was being done at the time but pretty soon we noticed black pieces of fabric on the carpet so we would just pick it up and throw it away. The problem only got worse since it now has become a game to her so today we turned over the couch and that is what we saw. So instead of just letting it be like that we just trimmed it up so hopefully that will solve the issue. Now I'm sure some of you might be reading this and think to your selves why did it take us so long to fix the problem. To you I say we didn't really notice how much it was damaging it on a day by day basis. This was a gradual thing it didn't just happen over night so we really didn't think to much of it. We are not to worried about it since it sorta comes with the territory of owning a dog. Dogs like to destroy things its just a fact of life so we move on and wait for the next thing to be in the "Nalanator's" path!!

Valentines Day..(BeLaTeD)

I
Adam

___________________________________________________________________

This Valentines Day was pretty low key since it was on a Sunday. We decided that we would open our gifts to each other at midnight on the 13Th. ( Which is the day Adam proposed to me)

As for what we got I received tickets to this amazing bands concert for April 22, 2010
I am beyond thrilled and excited to go. Lifehouse which I love as well, along with another band which I didn't recognize is opening for Daughtry. Oh and there floor seats!! I won't be able to hear afterwards but Daughtry is worth it right.

I got Adam a cute lovey dovey bucket stuffed with some of his favorite things like candy and gum and a cute coupon book. It was adorable! I didn't take any pics just cause it was at midnight and we both looked tired. I will take pics at the concert and put those on here when that happens!

That thing you do...

Since Nala is like a child to us I am always wanting to go get the video camera and record her doing the funny things she does but since by the time I were to get the camera the moment would be over and I would miss seeing her cute antics. So instead I will just try to tell you in words what she does, its not nearly as cute or funny but oh well I just don't want to forget about them as time passes.
1. Since the day we brought Nala home to join our family we have put her in a different place to sleep like her kennel. But since moving into our new place we have been having her sleep in her pen. Which is way more comfortable for her then a cramped kennel. Every night she will lay on our bed while we get ready for bed and then when the lights go off she will move to the end of the bed and look into her pen then she will lay back down then gets back up like she is torn LOL. She knows what she should do but she doesn't want to. Eventually she will give up and jump into her pen all by herself. It amazes me that she does this and it just goes to show that consistency and routines pays off!
2. We have a projector that sits on top of the entertainment center and projects our TV/movies/video games on the wall with a really big screen. LOVE IT!!
The other day Mr.C was just playing around and playing this game on the XBox 360 where your character tries to kick as many soccer goals as you can. Well Nala caught site of the screen and started to crouch down and jump towards the screen like she was trying to get the ball. She was going nuts!! She would get brave enough and go up to the screen and was trying to paw at the ball, she was bouncing up and down on her hind legs it was so cute!! Mr C. and I were laughing so hard!!
3. Last weekend Mr.C and I wanted to play a board game together and attempted to play with Nala in the room but that didn't work so we put her in her pen so we could finish our game in peace. Earlier that day I had gone to the store, I bought a box of those Little Debbie Easter puffs they have marshmallow on top and a thin layer of chocolate cake on the bottom. I had eaten one and left the box on the bed. Well when we went to put in the pen I thought I had moved the box out of her reach but I guess not!! When we returned to get her out I noticed one of the wrappers in her pen. I looked in the box and there were only 4 left and 8 came in the box. I replayed it in my head, OK so I ate 1 she ended up eating 2 and there was 1 under her bed smashed to crumbs. LOL I was so worried I looked at Nala and she has this big smile on her face like thanks Mom that was yummy! How can you be mad at that. I was worried she would get sick but she's a champ and is just fine! Thank goodness!
4. Yesterday I had to run a errand and since I was close to a Petsmart I thought I would run in and buy another bag of dog food for Nala since she was almost out. Right next to the shelf where her dog food was this package of 4 dog toys for $7.50 so I thought why not she is always needing toys since she is always destroying them. I have never bought her any squeaky ones just because it might be annoying or she may swallow the squeaker but for some reason yesterday I didn't care. I brought them home and boy was she excited!! She knew it was for her. It came with a little ball the squeaks so I squeezed it and Nala was kind of taken aback since she has never played with any toys that make noise. She would not even go near it she kept crouching and jumping around when it would get near her. But I left her alone with it for a few minutes and I started hearing the same squeaking noise so I looked and sure enough she was pouncing on it her front paws and making it squeak she was going nuts after she got the hang of it. She did it for a 1/2 straight running around chasing it and making it squeak. She is so smart and funny.
5. In our new apartment we have a small deck and when it gets warmer that's where Nala is going to stay while we are at work. I wanted to get her used to being out there At first she was to scared to go out there she wouldn't even step foot on the deck so I would carry her out there. The door that goes out to the deck has blinds that go all the way to the bottom of the door. She is used to it now and will stay out there for a few minutes. Lately she will randomly go and stick her head through the blinds and look out there like she wants to go out there. I hope she will like it out there!
These are just some of the cute things she does on a daily basis! We are so love with her, she amazes me everyday. She is definitely one of the hardest and most rewarding things Adam and I have taken on! She tests me and tests our patience but at the end of the day she loves us unconditionally! Adam has taught her "kisses" whenever you get close to her and say "kisses" she will lick you on the nose its so cute! She is so smart and sometimes too smart for her own good! We are a stronger couple for having her in our lives as we have gone through and continue to go through those puppy moments that drive you crazy! Having her climb into your lap for some cuddles makes everything in the world a little brighter!

Nala @ 6 months

So it's that time again where I tell you that Nala is another month older and not really wiser lol! Ok is she smarter in some ways. :) She is definitly getting bigger and is just adorable. Does she get in trouble? All the time! She is so curious like a little toddler and also gets scared like a two year old as well! She loves her Daddy to pieces! Lately she has been getting into everything and then giving us those big puppy dog eyes where we forget what she just did! We love her!!
