{Weekend Fun}

This past weekend we had a lot of fun! First we went to Crystal Hot Springs with Sara and Clark on Saturday. I had purchased a KSL deal back at the beginning of February to get up to 6 people in for $12. So we choose a weekend and hoped for good weather. It's about a 2 hour drive. Crystal Hot Springs is nestled in the Wasatch Mountains in the city of Honeyville and is one of only two locations in the WORLD that has a natural hot and cold springs less than 50 feet apart. Also they have the highest mineral content of any hot springs in the USA possibly even world. You can find more info here.

It was so relaxing and fun! We were only there for a few hours since you can only take so much swimming before your tuckered out. It was pretty crowded but not to the point were it wasn't fun and you couldn't move around. I would go again in heart beat!
The pool you see in the picture above is where we hung out the most and is about 90ish degrees.

It was so nice to get into a pool and not want to jump right back out because it is so cold. It was so refreshing.
Sara, Clark and Adam went down the water slide they have there. You can kind of see it in the background of the picture above.
We all agreed it was time well spent! We met up with James and Laryssa, cousins of Adam and Sara at Cafe Rio for dinner. That was the cap to a great day

---------------------------------------------
On Sunday we wanted to take the dogs to the dog park for some much needed outdoor time and exercise. I feel bad that they are sometimes all cooped up in house or backyard all day and don't really get to see other places and experience new things. Jett I think has been way to sheltered. Are lives are so busy we sometimes don't have huge chunks of time to take them new places. The dog park up in SLC that we love is so far from home. We decided to take them to Daybreak and walk the trails. Although it was enjoyable it was pretty windy. Jett I think had a sensory overload and went bananas! He was whining and would bark at anyone and every dog he came in contact with. He was on high alert and if he was not either ahead of Nala or side by side with her he threw a fit! He was not sure of where he was and what was going on so I think he went in to panic mode. He got a little better toward the end. Nala on the other hand did great. She didn't whine or freak out, she didn't really pull when on leash and she loved the birds. It was more enjoyable for her than for Jett. Adam and I were exhusted by the time we went back to the car. We spent most of our not so relaxing walk trying to calm Jett down that we sort of lost the relaxing factor but it was good for him to get out in new surroundings. We want to be able to take him places without the fear of him running away from us. He will get there it will take time and effort! We got some cute pictures from our adventure so that's a plus. :)

{Lucky}

Growing up not knowing really anything about your Dad makes having a picture like this a dream come true.
This was taken on my birthday last year. It was the first time ever being with my Dad on my actual birthday. It seems like such a trivial thing that people do all the time. Of course you would see your Dad on your birthday right?? Well in my case it was a moment that I had longed to experience. Not having my Dad there for all the milestones was very difficult. It became the norm in life and not long after I reached the age where I understood that he was not in my life I was unsure if he ever would be.

It was a piece of my life that made me unique in a weird way. People were always shocked when they found out that I had never met my father. It was never something that I felt the constant need for. I had this man in my life to fill the void. I am so blessed to have my grandpa in my world.

 Now that my Dad has been in my life almost 3 years it's made me even more lucky to have both men in my life. Although my relationship is still forming with him and his family and bonds are being created and as more firsts happen the more excited I get as the future unfolds with hope of many more moments to be apart of.

May the dreams of your past be the reality of your future.

Jett--{9 months}

Jett Juma

is 9 months old now and is cuter than ever.

I didn't know how my heart would expand to love another puppy in our family but.. it does without any hesitation.

Jett is crazy and sweet

Jett is strong and fast

Jett is quiet but present

Jett is gentle and rough

Jett is protective

Jett is playful

Jett is loyal

Jett is a best friend

Jett is one of the best dogs, yes he does destroy things and has caused us to shake our heads in bewilderment.

Jett loves sticks so much so that if he could live in a forest he would be right at home. He loves the outdoors so much so that he likes to make the front room a mini forest while we are away. I am pretty we have a stick in every room of the house that he has drug in at one point or another.

Jett is very protective to the point where he won't leave the room unless I am with him no matter if Nala or Adam has or not. He will wait ever so patiently until I am ready. He loves to lay on the bathroom floor and will follow us in and just lay there in case we need him.

Jett loves his big sister more than she can handle sometimes. He wants to be just like her. Even if we give them the same treat he has to have hers. We are trying to teach him to share.

We can't imagine our lives without this little boy.

You Blink And It's Over...

This past weekend we took a blink-and-you-miss-it kind of vacation to Hemet, California to go to our baby nephew's blessing. We left Friday after work and picked up Sara and Clark in Provo before really setting out on the road. I was nervous about driving through the night since we had all had a busy day and we all would be tired. We all took three hour shifts driving to help break up the 10ish hour drive. We made a few stops for gas and potty breaks, but other than that it was smooth sailing all the way. We arrived in California at about 5 AM checked into our Super 8 motel that Adam's mother had so nicely reserved for us. We were all beyond exhausted by then and were out like a light. We set an alarm for 10AM in order to not sleep our short vacation away. Sara and I woke first and headed down without the men to grab breakfast before they stopped serving it. We gathered food for the guys since that would be a bad idea to not feed them. Adam had started getting a cold on the Thursday night before we left, which was not good timing as he would be suffering the whole trip. We called Kellie (sis-in-law) and let her know that Adam was ill and if he should just stay at the motel as to not get anyone else sick. She kindly agreed to let him come but he had to hangout on the back patio. He was super bummed he did not get to hold baby Jude. We met up with Adam's siblings and parents at Kellie's parents house. They were so nice to let the crazy Collet's invade their home for the weekend. I got to meet Jude for the first time and boy is he as cute as a button!

We hung around the house and visited for a few hours. Adam got to see Jude from a distance and loved him to pieces. We headed to a Mexican food place for lunch. I am not a big Mexican food lover but the Collet's are so I went along for the ride and great company. Kellie and Chad had a baptism to go to so the rest of the gang headed back to the motel where some napped, some went to the pool, I went to the pool and then did a little shopping for a blessing present for Jude. We went back to Kellie's parents house that night and continued our visit. Kellie got the stomach flu and was not feeling well so we did not see her that night but we got to play with baby Jude some more. We left and went to Quizno's for dinner and had Cold Stone for dessert. We headed back the motel and crashed. We got up bright and early to pack up and get ready for the blessing. We drove to the church and got our seats, boy did Jude look adorable in his white tux. He slept through the blessing and after Kellie left since she was still not feeling that great. We went back the Kellie's parents for a great brunch and more family time. We enjoyed our last few hours all together soaking up the California sun. We packed up the car and got a later start than we had wanted but it all worked out. We had a smooth ride home and were in bed by 2 AM. It was a quick trip but crammed full of family time and sun. You can't go wrong with any of that!
