Since Nala is like a child to us I am always wanting to go get the video camera and record her doing the funny things she does but since by the time I were to get the camera the moment would be over and I would miss seeing her cute antics. So instead I will just try to tell you in words what she does, its not nearly as cute or funny but oh well I just don't want to forget about them as time passes.
1. Since the day we brought Nala home to join our family we have put her in a different place to sleep like her kennel. But since moving into our new place we have been having her sleep in her pen. Which is way more comfortable for her then a cramped kennel. Every night she will lay on our bed while we get ready for bed and then when the lights go off she will move to the end of the bed and look into her pen then she will lay back down then gets back up like she is torn LOL. She knows what she should do but she doesn't want to. Eventually she will give up and jump into her pen all by herself. It amazes me that she does this and it just goes to show that consistency and routines pays off!
2. We have a projector that sits on top of the entertainment center and projects our TV/movies/video games on the wall with a really big screen. LOVE IT!!
The other day Mr.C was just playing around and playing this game on the XBox 360 where your character tries to kick as many soccer goals as you can. Well Nala caught site of the screen and started to crouch down and jump towards the screen like she was trying to get the ball. She was going nuts!! She would get brave enough and go up to the screen and was trying to paw at the ball, she was bouncing up and down on her hind legs it was so cute!! Mr C. and I were laughing so hard!!
3. Last weekend Mr.C and I wanted to play a board game together and attempted to play with Nala in the room but that didn't work so we put her in her pen so we could finish our game in peace. Earlier that day I had gone to the store, I bought a box of those Little Debbie Easter puffs they have marshmallow on top and a thin layer of chocolate cake on the bottom. I had eaten one and left the box on the bed. Well when we went to put in the pen I thought I had moved the box out of her reach but I guess not!! When we returned to get her out I noticed one of the wrappers in her pen. I looked in the box and there were only 4 left and 8 came in the box. I replayed it in my head, OK so I ate 1 she ended up eating 2 and there was 1 under her bed smashed to crumbs. LOL I was so worried I looked at Nala and she has this big smile on her face like thanks Mom that was yummy! How can you be mad at that. I was worried she would get sick but she's a champ and is just fine! Thank goodness!
4. Yesterday I had to run a errand and since I was close to a Petsmart I thought I would run in and buy another bag of dog food for Nala since she was almost out. Right next to the shelf where her dog food was this package of 4 dog toys for $7.50 so I thought why not she is always needing toys since she is always destroying them. I have never bought her any squeaky ones just because it might be annoying or she may swallow the squeaker but for some reason yesterday I didn't care. I brought them home and boy was she excited!! She knew it was for her. It came with a little ball the squeaks so I squeezed it and Nala was kind of taken aback since she has never played with any toys that make noise. She would not even go near it she kept crouching and jumping around when it would get near her. But I left her alone with it for a few minutes and I started hearing the same squeaking noise so I looked and sure enough she was pouncing on it her front paws and making it squeak she was going nuts after she got the hang of it. She did it for a 1/2 straight running around chasing it and making it squeak. She is so smart and funny.
5. In our new apartment we have a small deck and when it gets warmer that's where Nala is going to stay while we are at work. I wanted to get her used to being out there At first she was to scared to go out there she wouldn't even step foot on the deck so I would carry her out there. The door that goes out to the deck has blinds that go all the way to the bottom of the door. She is used to it now and will stay out there for a few minutes. Lately she will randomly go and stick her head through the blinds and look out there like she wants to go out there. I hope she will like it out there!
These are just some of the cute things she does on a daily basis! We are so love with her, she amazes me everyday. She is definitely one of the hardest and most rewarding things Adam and I have taken on! She tests me and tests our patience but at the end of the day she loves us unconditionally! Adam has taught her "kisses" whenever you get close to her and say "kisses" she will lick you on the nose its so cute! She is so smart and sometimes too smart for her own good! We are a stronger couple for having her in our lives as we have gone through and continue to go through those puppy moments that drive you crazy! Having her climb into your lap for some cuddles makes everything in the world a little brighter!
